The National Authorising Officer (NAO) as appointed by the Government of Guyana is the Ministry of Finance. The NAO represents the governement in all operations financed from the resources of the European Development Fund (EDF) which is managed by the European Commission and the bank.
The NAO task force is deligated by the NAO to assist with activities dealing with tenders, contracts and riders, they are also expected to clear and authorise expenditure within the limits of the funds assigned to the NAO. They should report to the NAO progress of all projects or programs being executed from the fund.
